What Is Maxim in the Philippines?

Maxim is a ride-hailing and logistics platform that offers budget-friendly rides, delivery and errands. It entered the Philippines in January 2020, starting in Cebu City.

It then grew into second and third-tier cities outside Metro Manila, such as Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod, Angeles and Puerto Princesa. Maxim positions itself as an affordable alternative to bigger apps, and says its services are provided by independent carriers.

Maxim Services: What You Can Book

One app covers several services. Availability changes by city, so open the app to see what your area offers.

Service What it covers
Car ride 4-seater and 6-seater cars, newer and air-conditioned in the four new-rate cities
Motorcycle taxi Offered where local permits allow, so it depends on your city
Express delivery Parcels and documents by motorcycle or car courier
Pabili (Food and Shop) A courier buys food, groceries or errands for you and delivers them
Cargo Vans and light pickups for bulky items and furniture

How Maxim Works

Maxim acts as an information service. It matches your request with an independent driver, who accepts the job in the separate Taxsee Driver app.

Booking a Maxim, Step by Step

  1. Enter your pick-up and drop-off in the Maxim app
  2. Choose a service: car, motorcycle taxi, delivery or Pabili
  3. Check the upfront fare, then place the order
  4. A nearby driver accepts. Track them live on the map
  5. Pay by cash or e-payment when you arrive

Maxim Rates in the Philippines

Maxim does not use a taximeter. It calculates your fare from the distance of the shortest route and shows it before you order. That helps you plan your budget and lowers the risk of overcharging.

In September 2026 Maxim set new car rates in four cities. These are the base fares:

Car type Base fare Cities
Car 4-seater ₱45 Davao, General Santos, Tacloban, Tagbilaran
Car 6-seater ₱55 Davao, General Santos, Tacloban, Tagbilaran

A base fare is the starting price. Your total depends on your route, so always read the amount on the booking screen. Rates for other cities and for motorcycle taxi and delivery vary, and Maxim does not publish one national rate card.

Where Maxim Operates: 32 Philippine Cities

Maxim's city selector lists these cities, grouped here by island group. The list shows where Maxim has a presence. Services still vary by city.

Island group Cities

Visayas Bacolod, Cebu, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Ormoc, Roxas, Tacloban, Tagbilaran
Mindanao Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, Davao, General Santos, Iligan, Ipil, Koronadal, Tagum, Zamboanga

Pabili and Delivery on Maxim

Maxim is not only for rides. Pabili lets a courier shop for you, then deliver to your door. Express delivery moves parcels and documents across the city.

Pabili is handy when you are sick, stuck at work or short on time. Tell the courier exactly what to buy, then check the item cost and delivery fee in the app before you confirm.

Is Maxim Safe?

Maxim says it works only with verified drivers, and shows the fare and your driver details before the ride. In the four new-rate cities the car service uses legally operating driver-partners.

  • Match the plate number and driver name before you get in
  • Share your trip with someone you trust
  • Check the fare on screen before you confirm
  • Book and pay inside the app, not outside it
  • Contact Maxim support if an item is left in the car

How to Save on Maxim Rides

TipidNation does not list a Maxim promo code. These habits still lower your total.

  1. Check the new-user offer. Maxim promotes first-ride discounts in its app. Terms and expiry change, so read them first.
  2. Compare upfront fares. Screenshot two apps for the same trip and take the cheaper one.
  3. Try a 6-seater for groups. Split ₱55 and up across four or five people and it beats booking two rides.
  4. Avoid peak hours. Book early for airport and terminal trips.
  5. Plan around sale season. Bank and e-wallet promos often land near 11.11 and Christmas.

Maxim vs Other Ride Apps

Maxim's edge is reach in provincial cities and low base fares. If you ride a motorcycle taxi in Metro Manila, check Angkas Philippines promo codes too. JoyRide bundles rides and delivery, and inDrive lets you name your own fare. For a side-by-side look, read our Maxim vs Grab vs Angkas vs JoyRide comparison.

Bottom Line

Maxim is worth a look if you live outside Metro Manila or want one app for rides, delivery and Pabili. Fares are shown upfront, car base fares start at ₱45 in four cities, and the city list keeps growing. Compare the price on screen, then book the cheaper option.

"Sa Davao, ₱45 lang ang simula ng car fare kaya mas tipid kapag apat kaming magkakasama papuntang mall. Tinitingnan ko muna yung presyo sa screen bago ako mag-confirm."
