How to use this calculator
- Enter your monthly basic salary. Leave out overtime, allowances and commissions unless your contract counts them as basic pay.
- Pick how many months you have worked this year. Choose 12 if you were employed the whole year.
- Add any basic pay you lost to unpaid leave or absences, so the total reflects what you actually earned.
- Optionally add other bonuses and benefits received this year to check the ₱90,000 tax-exempt limit.
- Read your estimated 13th month pay at the top, then check the rows below for any amount that goes over the limit.
How much is my 13th month pay?
Your 13th month pay is the total basic salary you earned during the calendar year divided by 12. If you worked the whole year at the same salary, it equals one month of pay. If you joined mid-year, you receive a pro-rated amount based on the months you worked.
Employers must pay it on or before December 24, and it is exempt from income tax up to ₱90,000 when combined with other bonuses and benefits. This calculator shows your estimate and tells you if any part goes over the limit.
Planning ahead pays off. Many Filipinos use the bonus for the Christmas sales, so read our 13th-month pay plan and check the 11.11 Sale and Black Friday deals before you spend.
How 13th month pay is computed
- The rule: 13th month pay is the total basic salary you earned during the calendar year divided by 12.
- Who gets it: rank-and-file employees who worked at least one month in the year, regardless of position or how they are paid.
- When it is due: employers must release it on or before December 24.
- Tax: the 13th month pay and other benefits are tax-exempt up to ₱90,000 combined. Only the amount above that limit is taxable.
Rules used: SSS 2025 schedule, PhilHealth 5% premium, Pag-IBIG 2024 cap, BIR TRAIN tax table (2023 onward). Check the official agency pages if your employer follows a newer schedule.
Tips to save more
- Decide your split before the money arrives: savings first, then gifts, then a small treat.
- Put the savings part in a separate account or wallet on the same day you receive the bonus.
- Use sale days and the voucher stacking calculator to stretch your gift budget.
- Avoid using the bonus to pay off cheap debt first. Clear the highest-interest balance, such as a credit card, before anything else.
