How to use SPayLater without overpaying
Buy now, pay later is convenient, but the convenience has a price. A small monthly amount can hide a total that is noticeably higher than the item price. Knowing the total before you tap pay helps you decide whether the extra cost is worth the flexibility.
This calculator uses the figures you enter, so you can match it to the plan you see at checkout. Compare a 1-month, 3-month and 6-month plan by changing the term, and see how the total cost changes.
Lower the price first. Check Shopee promo codes, collect vouchers and coins, then finance only what is left. For big purchases, read the Shopee Coins guide.
How the SPayLater estimate is calculated
- You enter the rate or fee your plan shows at checkout. We do not assume a rate, because plans and offers change.
- With an add-on rate, interest is the amount times the monthly rate times the number of months, split evenly over the term.
- With an annual rate, payments follow a diminishing balance. Pick 0% if a promo waives interest.
- The extra cost is your total payments plus any fee, minus the purchase amount.
Tips to save more
- Apply vouchers and coins before choosing a pay-later plan.
- Choose the shortest term whose payment fits your budget.
- Set a reminder a few days before each due date.
- Keep total monthly installments low compared with your take-home pay.
