What GrabGifts Actually Is
GrabGifts is Grab's digital gift voucher system, credit you send to someone's phone number or email that lands directly in their Grab app. There's no physical card to lose and no shipping wait, the recipient gets an email, taps to claim it, and the balance shows up under My Rewards ready to spend.
It works well for birthdays, graduations, or just helping a family member cover a ride or grocery run without handing over cash. Since it's digital-first, it also fits how a lot of Filipinos already send small gifts through GCash or Maya, an app-to-app transfer that arrives instantly instead of a card that has to be mailed.
Where You Can Use a GrabGift
GrabGift credit is spent inside the Grab app on whichever category the sender chose when buying it: rides, food, or Mart. Ride credit applies to GrabCar and GrabTaxi bookings, food credit covers GrabFood orders from restaurants and food stalls on the platform, and Mart credit covers GrabMart orders for groceries, medicine, and household essentials.

How to Redeem a GrabGift Code
Redemption happens through email, not a code you type into the app manually. Once someone sends you a GrabGift, an email arrives with a Redeem Now link.
- Open the redemption email sent to your address.
- Tap Redeem Now.
- Enter your mobile number for verification.
- If your number isn't linked to a Grab account yet, create one first, redemption requires an existing account.
- Once verified, the credit appears under My Rewards in your Grab app, ready to apply at checkout.
From there, the credit behaves like any other Grab promo balance. It applies automatically or as a selectable option at checkout depending on the order type, no separate code entry needed once it's sitting in My Rewards.
How to Send or Buy GrabGifts Yourself
There are two ways to send GrabGifts, through the Grab app for one-off gifts, and through the GrabGifts Shop for bulk sending.
Sending Through the Grab App
- Open the Grab app, tap All, then select the Gifts tile and choose Send gifts.
- Enter the recipient's phone number or email, up to 10 recipients per order.
- Pick up to 3 gift types (ride, food, or Mart). Sending overseas requires selecting the recipient's country.
- Choose the gift amount.
- Customize the greeting, card title, and message.
- Review the order, pick a payment method, and tap Pay and Send Gift.
You'll get an in-app confirmation and an email receipt right after sending, and the recipient can redeem their gift from their own Grab app once it arrives.
Buying in Bulk Through the GrabGifts Shop
- Visit the GrabGifts Shop and select the recipient's country.
- Choose a greeting card design and customize it with the sender's name, card title, and message.
- Set the gift amount for each recipient.
- Choose how to send: download the links yourself, or let Grab email them directly.
- For direct sending, add recipient names and emails, up to 50 recipients per order.
- Review the order, choose a payment method, and log in to complete the purchase.
You'll receive a confirmation email and, for direct sends, a distribution email containing the gift links for each recipient. Orders can be tracked and managed from the Orders summary page in the GrabGifts Shop.
