How Amazon Works for Filipino Shoppers
Amazon ships many items from the US to Philippine addresses, but not everything. Some listings ship directly, some go through Global Store with import fees estimated up front, and some, such as certain battery-powered electronics, will not ship at all. The listing's delivery line tells you which one you have. Our guide on whether Amazon ships to the Philippines explains the difference in detail.
Six Steps From Cart to Doorstep
- Open Amazon.com and set your location. Choose the Philippines as the delivery country and add your full local address.
- Search and open the listing. Look at the delivery line near the buy box. If it does not offer delivery to the Philippines, move on.
- Check the seller and the shipping label. Note whether Amazon or a third party ships the item, since that affects shipping and returns. Eligible items can show free shipping to the Philippines once the cart reaches the threshold. Read how the USD 49 free shipping deal works.
- Review the import fee estimate. At checkout, Amazon shows an estimated import fee deposit on eligible items. See how Global Store pricing works.
- Pay by card. Use a Visa or Mastercard enabled for online and international payments, and let your bank do the currency conversion.
- Track and inspect. Follow the status in your Amazon account and check the item as soon as it arrives.

What You Pay Beyond the Item Price
| Cost | What to know |
|---|---|
| Item price | Charged in US dollars. Your bank converts it to pesos |
| Shipping | Free on eligible items from USD 49 in the cart, based on 2022 reports. Check the label on each item |
| Import fee deposit | An estimate shown at checkout on eligible items, because customs rules and rates can change before delivery |
| Duty and VAT | Shipments valued at ₱10,000 or less are widely reported as exempt. Above that, duty and 12% VAT apply |
| Card fee | Many Philippine cards add a foreign transaction fee, commonly 1% to 3.5% |

Fixing a Declined Payment
Most first-time declines come from the same four things. Turn on online and international use in your bank app, match the billing address to the one your bank holds, check the available limit and make sure your registered mobile number is current so the OTP reaches you. Our Amazon payment guide walks through each fix.
Amazon or Lazada and Shopee?
Local marketplaces already hold the stock, so there is no customs wait, though resellers add a markup. Amazon can win on price for imported brands, but only after shipping and any import fee are counted.
