How to invest in the GCash IPO: ₱6.60 per share, ₱660 minimum, offer period October 6 to 12, listing October 20
GCash IPO key dates and prices at a glance.

What Is the GCash IPO?

Mynt Inc. is the parent company of the group behind GCash. It is selling more than 8 billion shares at ₱6.60 each, a base deal of about ₱53.0 billion. If the overallotment option of up to 1,204,111,400 shares is fully exercised, the offer could reach about ₱60.9 billion, which would make it the largest IPO in Philippine history.

Buying even 100 shares makes you a small shareholder in the company. That is the "part owner" idea behind the campaign, and it comes with both upside and real risk.

How Allocation Works

Orders placed on October 6 and 7 got their first 100 shares allocated in real time, while shares lasted. That window has now closed. Any shares beyond the first 100 are first come, first served, and order fulfillment began October 8. You can track each order as fulfilled, pending, or unfulfilled on your GStocks PH dashboard.

If demand exceeds what the broker holds, the IPO meter shows oversubscribed. You can still place an order and wait until after the offer period for your allocation result. Oversubscribed orders are not guaranteed, and unused funds come back to you.

Remember that listing day prices can swing both ways. A first-day jump or drop is common for large IPOs, and neither one predicts the long run. If you are new to stocks, our GInvest review and the Philippine vs US stocks guide cover the basics.

Why Investors Are Watching Mynt

Mynt runs two businesses: GXI, the operator of the GCash wallet, and Fuse Lending, a tech-based lender offering microloans and business loans. GCash describes itself as the country's number one finance app, with access to savings, credit, loans, insurance, and investing in one place.

The growth story rests on moving users from simple payments into higher-value services like lending and insurance. Large institutions have shown interest too. The offer has secured demand from over 20 global and local institutions, including funds managed by BlackRock, IFC, BPI Asset Management and Trust Corporation, and Metrobank Trust Banking Group, covering about 70% of the allocation.

Strong institutional demand is a positive sign, but it does not guarantee a rising share price. Treat it as one data point, not a promise.

Quick Checklist Before You Subscribe

  • Confirm the offer is still open (it closes October 12).
  • Decide your budget first, and keep an emergency fund separate.
  • Read the prospectus summary and the terms inside GStocks PH.
  • Check the current share limit in the app.
  • Expect the allocation result only after the offer period ends.

Risks to Weigh Before You Invest

  • Price risk. Shares can trade below the ₱6.60 offer price after listing.
  • Regulation. Digital wallets face oversight from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas on security and transaction limits.
  • Competition. Maya and digital banks such as GoTyme compete for the same users.
  • Liquidity. You cannot sell until trading starts on October 20.

Only invest money you will not need soon, and never borrow to buy shares. This guide is general information and not personal investment advice.
