How to use this calculator
- Type each participant on a new line in the names box. You need at least three people.
- Set the gift budget per person, or leave it as a reference for your group.
- If some people should not draw each other, like couples or siblings, list them one pair per line, separated by a comma.
- Press Generate pairs. Each person is matched with someone else, and nobody draws themselves.
- Use the Reveal button next to each name to show one match at a time, or copy the full list for the organizer.
How to organize a Monito Monita
Monito Monita, also called Secret Santa, is a favorite Christmas tradition in Philippine offices, schools and families. Everyone draws one name, buys a gift for that person within a set budget and reveals themselves at the party. It keeps gift costs low because each person buys only one gift.
This generator makes the draw fast and fair. It shuffles the names, avoids self-draws and honors any pairs you exclude. Names stay in your browser and are never saved, so it is safe to use for an office or family list.
Need gift ideas by budget? Browse our Christmas gift guide, then look for discounts on the 11.11 Sale, Black Friday and 12.12 Sale pages.
How the draw works
- The generator shuffles the list and gives each person someone else to buy for, so nobody draws themselves.
- Pairs you list as exclusions, like couples or siblings, are skipped. If your rules make a draw impossible, it tells you.
- Names stay in your browser. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere, so close the page and the draw is gone.
- Each name has a Reveal button so the organizer can share the screen without showing everyone else's pair.
Tips to save more
- Agree on one budget up front, such as ₱300 or ₱500, so gifts feel fair.
- Set a reveal date and a wishlist deadline so nobody is stuck at the last minute.
- Use sale days and vouchers to get more gift for the same budget.
- Add a small extra rule, like a handmade gift or a gift under a theme, to make it more fun.
